New Knitting

I started the Harmony Shawl it's been a great easy knit so far, and one that I can do while at the chatty knit club meetings, I love those Wednesday nights they're so much fun. I cast on 108 stitches because I thought the 84 would have been to narrow and I like my shawls to cover my back and back side. I also like the color changes in the Sensations yarn, for being 100% acrylic it's been really nice to work with, soft and light weight besides that fact that it's marked as bulky yarn.

This is the stitch pattern close up kind of lacy without the actual work of lace knitting.

It looks like a fun knit and it will be beautiful, too. So do you block it somehow or just press it-wondering when you use acrylic how you do that.....

I like to press it, it's called "killing acrylic" because once you go there, you can return. I did it to my brown sweater and have washed and dried it and doesn't lose it shape.

So, what stitch is that?

Benita, I don't know it's part of the pattern I found at Vintage knitting, I've looked for a name but I haven't found one. Click the link so you can see it. Let me know if it doesn't work.

It's lovely! I love the colors and I love the stitch pattern. And being acrylic you'll love its washability.
